#be able to change who youre spectating

yeah, I hate spectating only one person, especially in solos when im dead,
I wonder if an echo version of the match - where you get to see the game as it was 30 seconds prior - would work out well. It would be helpful for streamers to tap into and stream that version too.
The game is way too dynamic for 30 seconds delay imo
Even tho some type of delay is still needed for such type of spectation
On the other hand, it really only poses an issue when players are playing duos and squads, so maybe limiting spectated players to your teammates in those will solve the issue still allowing to spectate the whole match in solos
Duos and Squads has the added unnecessary issue of dead players being forced to stick around to the end of a match to get any reward for having participated.
As for the game being too dynamic, that would suggest that 30 seconds would be enough to mitigate any advantage from spies.
Yeah, but you also don't wanna let dead players snitch on others' doings in the match to their teammates
They wouldn't. They'd be queuing for the next match (if not punished for doing so).
Yes. That's what I'm underlining to be an added issue of Duos and Squads.
(unrelated to the OP)
(or spectating)
I try to underline the same thing
Okay. So perhaps we agree that there isn't a point to forcing dead players to stay and spectate.
It's a friction point for such players. It may encourage duos and squads to remain grouped - but it does so at the cost of individuals' enjoyment.
I'd love this as I get so bored watching the bot that just killed me. Instead I wanna see someone playing well so I can learn from them
With a rolling game state 30 seconds in the past, along with a random cycle of players spectated, I think that spectating could be more interesting.
More interesting is good.
Teaming prevention (even for solo because of people who may be teaming against the rules) is why it's not able to be swapped
Even 30s in the past can give you an idea of where someone is generally (especially if they're sticking around to loot/etc.)
60 seconds, perhaps? A shorter delay means less of a lag for spectating. Perhaps team mates could be at no or little lag.
ah, that makes sense
