When you open the map it would be great if you could use the scroll wheel to zoom in (depending on where your cursor is). This would be really helpful when the zone gets smaller.

This has been suggested many times for years, don't know why they haven't added this feature

they need to re-render the map to be either larger (4k pixels) or something something vector graphics

Isn't the map re-rendered for every match? I figured it is, since the campfire locations can appear randomly on the image.

I don't think it would be impossible, but it might hurt the performance when rendering a 4k+ image
