I use to main shadower too. They’re almost the same but shadower burst is in meso explosion. And db is with hyper and v1

It'll come down to the content really where certain emblem builds shine over others, but I personally use 4/4 as well. Some use 7-8 CD only, and do great too. The main difference I noticed is that the 6-8 CD emb ppl will use purple jewels, and the 4-5 CD emb ppl usually have blue jewels.

Yeah it really comes down to maximizing your own build and stats, and it makes sense too. Usually the more CD embs you have, the less BA, so you "fix" it with purple jewels, and then with the more BA embs, you'll try to bring up your lowest stat which is usually PD. Then flame builds is more BA for purple, and more HP/MP for blue.

This last patch definitely was a boost for us since the increased stats helped with clone dmg and other lines that weren't capping

Let’s not discredit our amazing aoe map clears 🤭 I believe they use PB bc it’s quick cast and multi hit. Plus monsters don’t stay alive and around for long since a good party kills fast and efficient.

The main goal should be getting to 200, then if you want to work on your main character, you would look into buying equipment from the other players or making your own equipment from scratch. The former is "cheaper" in the long term as it's always better to buy finished equipment but if you go with the latter, then your priority should be making as much mesos as possible and creating alts to set yourself up for the future. You can also start working on alts to get the proper link skills and working on your legion.

So basically every character in the game has their own link skill, some classes have the same link skill if they're considering to be in the same grouping. These are basically "free" stats we can use to link to another character (usually our main) in order to give them these stats

There are 2 levels to link skills,
lv1 is when char is lv70, lv2 is when they reach 120

For the next point, you can put 1 into "additional damage increase"
From there, you can do:

1. Max Final DMG (FD)
2. Max Additional Damage Increase (ADI)
3. Either max PD (physical dmg) or MDI (max dmg increase) - the choice here will depend on what gears and stats your character has at this time

Later on when you have more mesos, you can expand to the 2nd page and invest in exp and party exp hypers

Take advantage of every event shop! Free items for free upgrades to gear! A lot of the game is timegated and requires patience. If you know the background of MapleStory, it’s all about the grind and enjoying the process. Make use of creating alt characters and autobattle on them! You should always have a character on autobattle to farm mesos for you.

We get our first V skill for free by doing the initial arcane quests. Nodestone are probably the most cost efficient source to increase damage, in terms of damage gain per mesos spent, but DB has the most boost nodes combinations, so it takes quite a bit of mesos to max our skills.

Blade fury i still use for mobbing/dailies. Our v2, blades of destiny, and v3, blade tornado, are nice for mobbing, so you should keep opening nodes until you have these at least

So just depends on how fast you're trying to progress. You can buy more nodes and open the extra slots, or if you're not in a rush (or not really doing any serious bossing) and want to save mesos, you can just focus on levelling and unlocking them for free later

Mhm you can always switch out nodes for others when needed. Just try to not remove/re-add V skills, cuz you'll have to re-add them to your skillwheel and presets

Iframes are used almost exclusively for dashes. Our Iframes are plenty but they are short in duration, so it's important that you know exactly when will the dash happen (down to 1-2seconds accuracy). Try to save dark sight for instances when you have lost track of the sequence to save yourself from a possible incoming dash.

I'm assuming you're counting the top/bot as separate emblems, so i guess it's 5.5 cd and 2.5 ba? that is fine.
Jewels it'll come down to your flames. If you have mainly HP/MP to attack, FD souls on armours, I'd recommend blue. We don't have a lot of natural PD when our 150 goes on CD either, so that was another one of the reasons I prefer blue jewels.
If your flame scaling is mostly all BA lines, then purple jewels to maximize those flames, along with BA souls on armours.
Attack in general is a pretty overrated stat imo, but that's the thought process of choosing a jewel set that works best for you and your stats

Okay in the cash shop, we can purchase something called hyper stat page expansion. so what happens, we get 2 pages to uses hyperstats, ideally bossing on page 1, training on page 2. this requires you to have extra mesos since you'd be buying more stats (you get the same points for both pages per level, so it's not like you lose points)

So for your bossing page, you'd start off by putting 1 point in there
then:
20 points in final dmg, 19 points in additional dmg, the next 20 points would go into max dmg increase or physical dmg (it will depend on your stats and gears)

Whereas someone who is solely focused on levelling would put 20 points in exp, 20 points into party exp (this is something a lot of players do later on, but if you're only focused on levelling you can do it first since we're not really doing any meaningful bossing until past lv200)

Only felt like a nerf as qol since the status resist and mobility is so good

But battle analysis from kmsm is showing good result

Can’t really take value on paper since you get to cast more of other skill like phantom blow in between the cd

Let’s say you spend 10s on each v1 casting, you spend 40s to hit 48 lines vs 10s to hit 30 lines, you have 30 extra seconds to cast other skills so it looks like a great compensation

comes from my experience working on a lot of stat on my mage to 160ba and 430cd and I cap even our smallest line with 100% skill dmg , granted they aren’t clone line.

I’m gearing up a merc, which has clone and now I’m thinking more toward hp% potential for her , even 1 line cd% and 1 line hp% on weapon. And all hp% instead of phy att% on hat n such.

The idea is eventually like my Evan, I’ll cap our main line as I get more stuff like mlabel n heart n commander set. And instead of spending on getting that perfect 2 line cd% or phy att%, I should do hp%

Merc can do crazy DPS with a lot less mdc compared to other classes, but every class will be different in terms of what stats to maximize and whatnot (because of differing skill damage %s, nodes, overall importance of said skill, etc). When you're at the point of capping every possible skill you use, then you definitely need to increase MDC

as for HP potentials, unless it's for Damien, I wouldn't be concerned about cubing for them

As merc, we do have 25 20 and 15 clone line. Even a 550%cd 130ba 45k pa is only hitting 11m on the 25% line in ark

But the investment in the msw and lv50 necro if go into higher mdc in armor , which raises the overall dmg done by our main skill (which I assume is more line than those clone) , will net overall dmg

If the above is true, why would I stress the potentially 9% cd I’m missing out now while I probably will cap eventually in a few months

So people like to mention capping clone lines because it's a way to increase damage without having to invest in more mdc (which can be expensive depending on your current character state). In terms of importance, having more total MDC will probably be better, esp in fully buffed situations. I know a Merc with abso weapon, msw, full 50s, etc that still doesn't cap every line but that's just the clones. Him increasing his overall mdc led to bigger jumps in of overall DPS. But not capping can be seen as a good thing I guess, usually means the class has more potential to increase damage vs other classes that are hard capped with no kind of clone damage.

yes, we can only get cd% from wep, swep, heart, rings
so when trying to roll for hp%, you want to go for items that wil have the least impact on damage, like pa% or flat atk

probably i know it's better to keep rolling reds to get CD% on lines2 and 3, then choice cube the first line so you can try to aim for that

6/2 cd/ba if ur thinking long term but won't be the biggest difference if you end up with 5/3, we get so many stats from items + set bonuses nowadays
