Would be possible to add the option to name villagers to feel more attached to them instead of getting just another random villager? Or at least have a special "difficulty" or game mode where this is allowed?

It something I thought would be cool would be to make our own profile because I want to make my own character but don't want them to die 👉👈

It would be fun to have the possibility to make some characters like a villager makers and allow them to be put randomly in your games (or maybe share it only with others? Idk if they ever want to implement online features)

this please! i genuinely think this would work really well with the intention i've seen expressed in devlogs of hoping players will get attached to their villagers, as well as the problem i've seen around of a lot of villagers with the same names! i think that having a button to customize first names (and possibly family names as well???) would be great

Yes, exactly. I really really hope will see something like this. I like the game as it is, but as someone who creates innumerable characters in any game that allows me the chance, I know it will triplicate my interest in keep playing in the long term. If devs are worried about balance you could be limited in the number of points you can allocate to their skills, or good traits they can have or things like that. Or the better a villager, the less chance they have to appear. Or just it they don't even have to care, being a single-player game.

I would also like to see the ability to customize villager's names and appearance. If there was this feature, you could do a little bit of storytelling. msg To me, the villagers currently feel a bit generic and I have little interest in looking at what's going on in their lives.
