#Does anyone know how to fix the lag? this game runs are like 30fps for me with a 2070 super, ryzen

ryzen 3800x 8core. average between 35-38 FPS when I enter the game. On the main menu I get 800 FPS

Is it on the zoomed out map? With rx 6600 and i5 7500 I get ~500 frames in menu, so worse cpu - worse result, makes sense, but in game, on a zoomed out 1440p last map I get

#

Exactly same result as you

Does 4687 mean that it uses that much memory in the game? or overall?

neon finch
#

It jumps to 46 while zoomed in, does it do it for you too? Strangely enough it looks like something bottlenecks ALL my components, none of them is even close to being fully utilised. I'd been trying to solve it for a long time without results

I'm not the best to help on this, cause I personally use an 1680x1050 monitor from the 2000s

#

even if I have a nuke pc

I wonder, as counter intuitive as it seems, if maybe limiting the number of CPU threads the game uses may work...
Did you already tried that @neon finch ?

It solved some crash issues, but I had found the fix in a Subnautica thread that was speaking about low performance, so this may actually work for both of you (and other people having the issue)...

The other players fixed their crash issue by limiting it to 4 CPUs, you could try that. To do so :

  • Open the task Manager
  • Go in the *Details *tab
  • Right click on the game
  • Select Set affinity
  • Pick 4 CPUs (don't know if it matters but the person on the Subnautica thread picked the 0, 2, 4 and 6)
neon finch
#

4 threads is all I have owllol I'll try with 2

humble frigate
#

Oh damn. xD Well, fingers crossed. 🤞

neon finch
#

1 thread - 26fps
2, 3 or 4 threads - 36fps

long crescent
#

Man... only game I have problems playing is Disgaea 5 cause I have too many cores instead

neon finch
#

I'm no cpu expert but does this game run on 2 threads max?

long crescent
#

doesn't that mean that it would use only 2 cores?

#

cause you have 4 core - 4 thread cpu

humble frigate
#

I don't know. I know that some games uses only/mainly one, like Minecraft.

neon finch
#

If the game runs only on 2 threads/cores I'd understand my cpu not being fully utilised and bottlenecking everything else. Op however has a much better cpu (I guess) even considering single core performance so the numbers don't check out unless they play on 4k which enables being zoomed out further away

neon finch
#

No, it seems to be using all 4 cores but in task manager utilisation is over 90%, not around 75% as riva tuner tells me, so it looks like in my case everything is ok. Why does the performance drop when only 1 core is left is beyond me tho

humble frigate
#

That may be cause the game is more CPU heavy than GPU heavy, and that 1 core is not enough for it ? (and/or probably some more advanced reasons x) )

neon finch
#

Yes but with 4 cores being used almost completely, absolutely no performance drop when I disable 2 of them makes no sense to me
So all I can advise is for op to see if their game uses more than 4 cores, if no and they play on 4k zoomed out, then the performance would check out with my results

# supple stirrup picked the 4 cpus u suggested and restarted, changed nothing

Yeah, I feared so, it didn't work for Mikowhy neither... 😕
Unfortunately I personally can't help more than that. Could you please post your DxDiag and a screenshot of the game in your task manager ? (some people have a 100% GPU issue, others don't, so those may be different issues)
If you don't know how to get your DxDiag :
Search "dxdiag" with the Windows research tool, open the app, and save all the info as a file on the bottom right.

Sorry for the inconvenience...

#

yeah mine is using 100% GPU

Thanks for you files !
One last thing you could try if you haven't already : Change in your NVDIA control panel the Power management mode and try the different options.

neon finch
#

I can do it via my radeon software, if nvidia doesn't have that then simple tools as gpu z, hwmonitor or msi afterburner with riva tuner will do the trick

Same issue here from the last update.12 FPS now with rx 5600 xt ryzen 5 3600. Before update perfect fps

have any of you tried looking in to your pagefile?

supple stirrup

@neon finch

#

played for about 10 minutes

#

this is the stats

im getting like... half usage on a 2080 but thats with a bunch of other stuff also running. am playing at 1920x1080.

#

this randomly happened to me

#

and my fps is finally smooth

#

but obviously the game isnt playable

#

reloaded the game

#

the ground came back

#

but the fps went backt o 30

This is mine, my clock is low cause of my minimum clock setting, I can boost it to 1300 and get stable 60fps/30W while zoomed out (just noticed it now...). I looked at 2070 super specs and it looks like your clock is higher than default boost frequency or even OC ones (for example, the Gigabyte one I found has a maximum of 1815MHz). Have you manually overclocked it? Also, considering I get 60fps at 1440k with 30W power draw, your 30fps at 1080p with 60W power indicate that something really is wrong . Two things I'd recommend now is to disable the overclock if you've overclocked it and update drivers. Yours seem to be from January and the latest I've found now are from March 23rd

If this is not only a visual bug, but a one that makes all things that should be rendered dissapear completely then better performance makes 100% sense - no things to render - no gpu bottleneck

#

If those don't help I'm afraid devs will have to found the bug causing it somehow 😦

supple stirrup
#

Yeah but i get better fps plqying cyberpunk then this 2d top down

#

And my fps turned perfect as soon as the background and buildings derendered

#

Ill try updating drivers and see if its overclocked when i get the chance

Gpu things are weird sometimes. Like I upgraded my gpu from rx480 to rx6600 and one other game stopped working. Completely. It crashes on launch, the previous version of that game however, works perfectly. I managed to pinpoint the problem to the new screens they'd added on launch with publisher logos etc. My game crashes on loading those pngs (on png_get something). So, I believe I'd also could play cyberpunk without issues but in another game I can't load some dumb png 🤷‍♂️

I also have issues with my Ryzen and 2070 super. No graphical glitches, just a major slowdown.
