Could you try to explain what happened with the most details possible as well please ?
I see your computer crashed (I guess blue screen). That would be the first reason of the save being corrupted. What's weird here is that the backup didn't work. We'll try to figure out why

full freeze crash, sound working no bsod, all windows black.
i've been having that issue for a bit which happens (i believe) because my gpu runs out of vram. some issue with firefox not releasing it after eating it up, i think youtube videos or random images i'm not entirely sure
so when i'm close to maxed and boot a game that puts me over it just stops outputting video. usually resets itself but sometimes not

Alright, did you play on a previous version of the game before that or did you play several sessions since 1.0 ?

this was a pre existing save before the latest patch, tho i'm not sure quite how old

I'll be honest there's no hope for recovery 😭, all the files are corrupted, including backups.
I'll see if there is an old version still working from the broken folder, but you'd lose progress in all cases.

We can give you a save though, so you don't have to grind all the meta and maps, where were you at in the game ?

I'm so sorry, hopefully the files will help us investigate the issue and we'll do our best so it doesn't affect anyone else 😔

no worries bro, i knew i had this issue and didn't do the thing i knew i shoulda done, my own fault 😄
plus i was thinking i should fresh start for 1.0 and experience the whole thing as intended, but didn't have the balls to pull the trigger

This is not on you, the saves should be robust enough to survive after a crash, that's precisely why we did backup files in the first place 🤦‍♂️
