Hi ! Sorry for this issue
May I ask you to post your setup ( your DxDiag for example)

As well as your CrashDumps folder which should be located here
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\CrashDumps

( it can be somewhere else according to your installation)

Hi ! For non-crash bugs : Saves and logs.

The Saves (both AppSave & GameSave) are located inside the Profile1 folder in your screenshot.

You can find your logs here (Major, Normal & Detailed) :

%Appdata%/../LocalLow/Ishtar Games/The Last Spell/Logs
Note that the Old folder is needed if you already closed & restarted your game.

& For @ornate ingot , if you don't know how to get your DxDiag :
search "dxdiag" with the Windows research tool, open the app, and save all the info as a file on the bottom right.

Hi all!
I am having the exact same issue: the game ran perfectly well on precious versions, but the 1.0 release crashes upon launch. Seconds after clicking launch I get the app to run (black loading screen for a second or so), but after that Unity window with a progress bar opens, the bar fills up to a quarter, and then both the Unity window and the game shut down. Attached is my dxdiag file.

Yeah apparently it's linked to the V1 (or 1.0.2) update... ๐Ÿ˜• But it only affects a few people and at the moment we don't know why it happens...

Sorry for the issue.
May I ask you to post your DxDiag and you Crash Dumps folder (an archive or the most recent files if it's too heavy) ?

If you don't know how to get your DxDiag :
Search "dxdiag" with the Windows research tool, open the app, and save all the info as a file on the bottom right.

For the Crash Dumps, this path will lead you directly to the files inside the folder (copy paste it in your windows file explorer) :

%Appdata%/../Local/CrashDumps

Crash dump files might be deleted upon reboot, so that may be why you don't have a .dmp related to TLS ;)

Regarding the topic so far:
The bug seems to be linked to our integration of the Asus SDK (RGB yeay ๐Ÿ˜Ž)
Some versions of the SDK (or at least some tech used by the SDK) appears to make the game crash.
Not sure if it is more a software or hardware thing yet, I'll try to get more info regarding that on the beginning of the week.

One player said on steam forums that they uninstalled their version of the Asus SDK and the game worked again. As far as I know, this bug also occurs with other RGB hardware / software which are not linked to Asus.

So, if you have any RGB hardware / software installed, that may be the reason the crash is happening.
I don't have a lot more info on that unfortunately so far, but i'm on it :)

Also @wide mauve sorry but your crash seems to be related to another issue, linked to UnityPlayer.dll itself, we'll take a look on that also (don't worry)
Sorry for the inconvenience ! Have a great week-end.

Hi again. I'd like to provide some additional info: apparently, I do in fact have an ASUS product in my PC, the motherboard. However, I never got around to installing the Aura software. I've installed it now and will try to play around with the settings. If anything works, I'll write an update.

#

Uh, so, yeah, I got the game to work at 1.0 version by simply deleting the AuraLayerManager.dll file ๐Ÿ™‚

Glad to hear that it worked. Enjoy the game. ๐Ÿ™‚

@ornate ingot @scenic fractal @hollow jungle (If you also had this issue)

Ok, so, looking at the following thread for the game Green Hell: https://steamcommunity.com/app/815370/discussions/0/4907188445923540928/

It appears that deleting the AuraLayerManager.dll file is just a temporary fix since you may encounter the issue again after the game gets an update. Asus informed them that such error may occur when using an outdated version of Asus Aura software.
So, installing newest Asus Aura firmware should solve the problem:
https://www.asus.com/campaign/aura/us/download.php (current last version is 1.07.84_V2 )
They apparently also advise to upgrade to their Armory Crate platform (update it you have already have it) :
https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/armoury crate/helpdesk_download/

Hope this fix the issue for good for you !

**Addendum : **
It also appears that there is a similar issue with Dragon Center (MSI program), if you have this program try to update it. Some others similar programs that are not up to date might be causing the using on your side.

Hope this fix the issue for you !

Also, I want to point out that there is another kind of crash linked to UnityPlayer.dll that the team is also still investigating. But it may take some time considering that the week-end is here. Sorry if you're running into that one.

You're welcome ! It's mostly thanks to Gnejs on Steam and Nikor who confirmed that it fixed the issue ! ^^
