This can be incorporated into "busy" conferences too but the idea stems for the "boring" ones.
[disclaimer] I haven't been to a conference in a long time, and don't have a complete understanding of how each one is conducted nowadays.
Since most people seem to dislike when conferences don't have any real sustenance, encourage the hosts to go an extra mile for the attendees through various activities / grounded interactions with the audience. I'll just spitball a few ideas the host can do below. You don't need to read them to get the general idea of this suggestion, the "tldr" is just this paragraph.
also I don't think this should be required, but heavily encouraged. Even if whoever is hosting doesn't care enough to do something extra, at least pretending to once in a while goes a long way. more community engagement = good 😮

They could, for example, do a relatively quick & low effort "knowledge quiz" with the attendees regarding the guidelines, AEGIS's history, or really anything else AEGIS-related. I guess kinda similar to how the divisional checkups segment is. If people answer correctly, award them a point for incentive to engage.

Instead of only taking question requests from the community, the host could ask the audience regarding areas of the group they may want opinions on. As a random example; if the host is a UC in charge of AOA, they could ask the audience questions relating to how AOA is perceived, what can be made better. Same goes for other areas of discussion like trainings, specific in-game duties, etc. Even if the host doesn't think something needs feedback, like previously mentioned- they can still open the floor to start that discussion.
not saying everyone's opinions are always valid or that the attendees might have anything worth while, but the engagement in an otherwise boring conference is cool
