This has happened a LOT and is exclusive to Day of Dusk, it's quite old but I'm mentioning it in-case no one mentioned it.
When you get a PM, it's very common for the PM to be way earlier in the chat than it should be, with the You are now privately chatting with X much later, or the message they sent dissapears and you only see the You are now etc.

Fixed by pressing ESC (Which refreshes the chat on the client)
It appears above their head but not in the UI * UI issue
What I mean by it appears much earlier than it should

That doesn't at all correlate with this issue.
That forum is just relating to general sync issues that may or may not happen at any point.
Again, nothing to do with the issue.
The issue (this bug) only occurs on DAY OF DUSK THE BORDER. It ONLY HAPPENS WITH WHISPERS. It ONLY HAPPENS WITH THE FIRST MESSAGE OF WHISPERS. IT HAPPENS NO MATTER THE SERVER, LATENCY OR WHO YOU TALK TO.
It Only occurs on Day of Dusk the border
