I've played a couple games like this in the past, and what I realize about this one is the fighting is really wonky. Everyone just jumps around in circle and I think it ruins the immersion of the game, and how I feel the game was intended.
A very simple feature would make this game a lot more engaging and the fighting more realistic, and that's a slight jump mechanic.
Other games like this I've played, when you jumped, your character would have a very temporary slowness, and it would be a bit before you could jump again. This would make jumping only useful for clearing object or climing ontop of one, and not for gunfights.
This would force players to use cover and good aim in a gun fight, instead of random unpredictable movement.
I'd love thoughts on this, I just feel this would make the game more immersive and the gunfights less annoying.

I was a dev for a game just like this a couple years back and we added that

TBH I wouldn't mind if DoD was a over the shoulder combat. Idk I just think that wound be interesting.
I'm giving this idea from the perspective of someone who's actually played with it as a dev for a game that, at the time, was way bigger than this one (not trying to dog on this game, I like it so far)
I just felt the current gunfights felt kinda goofy
Frl felt like I was playing jailbreak
or even making that your character constantly looks at your cursor when you have a gun equipped
in unlocked third person
I like the idea of semi-realistic gunfights
Where running out and jumping around like a goofy just gets you dropped
forced cursor follow would solve a lot of camping issues
since you can't just minimize your hitbox that way

Dod is rcl based combat and should stay that way
And you already get punished for jumping around in the open
Yeah, their money always slips out their pockets into DoD from the sweat
so by having a gun system that forces your character to look at your cursor when a gun's safety is off is more than enough, as this would make you no longer have such a narrow hitbox
