This is something that had been discussed as far back as 2 years ago and I feel like it's an infinitely better way of managing voicelines than the current individual keybind system. Note that the 2 are not mutually exclusive as I will explain later in the post.
What is it?
The voiceline selection wheel is a GUI that allows you to choose a voiceline from a number of others, only requiring one keybind to use. This approach allows DOD's hectic use of keybinds to be lightened up, as well as the allowing the addition of many new popularly requested voicelines. You would summon the GUI at your mouse location by pressing a key, 'C'. It would go away if you move your mouse off the selection wheel or selected a voiceline. The only quirks this has is accidentally activating the GUI in first person (which can be done with literally any of the menu GUI's and can easily be addressed).
The system I have in mind also has 3 QoL features that allow the selection wheel to be incredibly convenient to players who only want to utilize a few voicelines. Right clicking voicelines give the following options:
• 'Favorite': You can favorite voicelines so they appear in the top subsection of the selection wheel, allowing you to quickly navigate and choose among your favorite voicelines.
• 'Set as Default': You can set a voiceline within each subsection as a default, meaning if you just click on that subsection rather than hovering over it, it will choose the voiceline you have marked as default.
• 'Bind to Keyboard': Allows you to set a keybind for specific voicelines meaning the old system can be pseudo preserved at the player's wish while also introducing a much better way of handling a greater number of voicelines.
THIS ISN'T ENOUGH I WANT TO SEE IT IN ACTION!!!
This image shows a rough mockup, I would be deeply pained happy to make a non shitter GUI if requested.
