if you don't get cured the infection kills you and you respawn with it although it isn't as infectious then
if you get cured at a later stage, your symptoms stay (coughing,skin tone) but you become non infectious. resetting removes the gray skin and coughing ONLY after your cured
just let them cure you and reset its for the better

it STOPS the infection but does not REMOVE the effects

My suggestion is exactly about it REMOVING the effects too.

For instance if your cured of HC in the later stages, it will remove the infection but the visual effects will not be removed
