If you don't want to be in AEGIS, don't join. You're talking about us wasting your time but you just leaving and rejoining nonstop will only waste ours lol. Double edged sword argument there.
Most of the time it's used as a form of punishment, considering most people who do end up requesting it are being removed, demoted or otherwise punished from a position which makes them rq. We're not here to reward behaviour against AEGIS.
Ontop of that it's just standard security procedure. Back when this rule was enabled, the people who abused leaving / rejoining AEGIS would purposefully just raid a new vital area of the facility, to troll, or otherwise.
I get AEGIS might not be for you, but assume we're going to just let people randomly leave and rejoin with no failsafe.
More severe punishments and/or restrictions are given to those who maliciously abuse our systems. Sometimes people have to wait two weeks, sometimes a month. Etc.

I personally am not advocating to change what doesn't need to be updated nor should based on the retrospect we have to go off of. There's already "data" (if you want to call it that) proving that the way we had it before was not sufficient. Sure it's years later, and if another ToML wants to open up that discussion with the rest of us they can. But we have no reason to go out of our way to needlessly experiment on something we know full well of already.
