i mean if an FA+ or divisional requested this then I would say that this is not a bad Idea but coming from an operative that only leaves the facility once every however hours/days/weeks etc because of patrols then there is no use.

Auto run is a no because anti afk stated by quo not to long ago. then auto sprint but doesnt move you kinda thing is also no because of disadvantages in fights.

in order to begin running when holding w, you need to hold shift as well.

instead, you just press shift once and from there you run as long as you hold W
