Whenever you're playing the game and let's say you're on roof or a MDF outside in the wasteland, you'd have to reset or run over to the facility to see the protocol, adding the protocol status on the Tablist can be very helpful and wouldn't mean you'd have to run around the facility trying to find a tv that shows the protocol.
