I'm retypesetting/translating an old literary magazine and there are some images, what is the best way to add them in my re-typeset edition? Screenshot them and add them as is or edit them somehow? I've attached some of the image for reference

For the triangles, you can use tikz. For the others have you tried looking up the subjects of the images and finding modern versions?
I would take screenshots and then edit the white balance so that the background is white
Automate with Inkscape maybe?
take high quality scans (if you don't have them already) and then do this
looks a bit shit :/
can't take better scans as i dont have access to the document and the ones i have aren't great either
