Everything was fine until I added arcdps through nexus and restarted the game. Now I can't get past character select screen unless I remove d3d11.dll entirely. Other addons that didn't need to restart we working fine while I could play.

Also, this is happening on Linux!

Could you send a screenshot of your /addons folder?

#

and please send the log generated by arcdps when you click on OK

half jolt
frozen urchin
#

you should have another log <GW2>/addons/arcdps/arcdps_lastcrash.log

half jolt
frozen urchin
#

ah yep ty

half jolt
frozen urchin
#

you seem to have some arc plugins in bin64 (maybe even in the root directory of gw2) could you send screenshots of those folders as well?

#

The issue based on the log above is Unofficial Extras, the question is, is this because of a duplicate install or simply a wrong version

#

this version works at the moment, so if you have a different one, that could be causing the crash

#

1.18.8.1

half jolt
#

yeah its been a while since i updated that actually...

frozen urchin
#

ah

#

you have a mixed install of nexus + addon loader

half jolt
#

damn i havent used addon loader in years

@half jolt
Move these files from /addons/arcdps one folder up into /addons:

  • arcdps_bhud.dll
  • arcdps_food_reminder.dll
  • d3d9_arcdps_killproof_me.dll
  • d3d9_arcdps_mechanics.dll (edit: forgot this one)

Delete these files

  • /addons/arcdps/arcdps_unofficial_extras.dll
  • /addons/arcdps/gw2addon_arcdps.dll
  • /addons/arcdps/d3d11_update.dll (optional, just cleanup)
  • /addons/arcdps/nexus_arcdps.dll_update (optional, just cleanup)
  • /bin64/arcdps_unofficial_extras.dll
  • /bin64/d3d9_arcdps_killproof_me.dll
#

that should cleanup your folder to a decent state and fix any crashing

#

and then you can just reinstall unofficial extras through nexus

half jolt
#

many thanks for instructions

icy vine
#

@frozen urchin this seem to be very often problem. What about to do some quick sanity check Similarly to what gw2 has with -repair, nexus would have something that checks for common names and point out most common issues

frozen urchin
#

but it really isn't an ideal solution

#

I thought about adding a "migration" like that, but if people crash instantly then there's no point lol

waxen flume
#

you also forgot UE^^

frozen urchin
#

nah I intentionally said to delete it

#

reinstall through Nexus

half jolt
#

i assumed instaler would be a no go for linux so i just dropped the dll

frozen urchin
#

instead of bothering to look which version is newer, or if it's even still outdated

waxen flume
#

should be possible for kpme and mechanics as well ?!

#

oh, true, that makes sense

frozen urchin
#

those don't hook, so they should work baseline

#

but ofc you're right, they could also be outdated

#

tbf, depending on how old the install is they could be dx9 pupperkek

icy vine
#

. Net core would theoretically work under Linux? I am not sure how far it's with gui implementation. But ngl. Gui development on Linux is terrible

half jolt
#

seems like i can load into the game and nexus is active, but not sure if arcdps is active even though nexus says it is

#

could the UI be hidden or out of view?

frozen urchin
#

does it not pop up with alt-shift-t?

half jolt
#

nnnnope

#

i didnt want to do it but i guess i should delete arcpds settings

frozen urchin
#

send the arcdps.log file please

frozen urchin
#

if it's out of view only delete /arcdps/imgui.ini

#

or arcdps_imgui.ini, forgot its name

half jolt
frozen urchin
#

that's just for window positions

waxen flume
#

table setup for kp.me and boontable is saved in there as well

frozen urchin
#

ah :/

#

try renaming it first then

#

from .ini to .notini

#

lol

#

because based on the log, it loads properly

#

so either it's windows off screen

#

or it may be another program interfering? though I'm not sure how that applies to linux

half jolt
#

in any case you helped me solve the issue so thanks for that!

frozen urchin
#

don't worry, we can figure this out as well

half jolt
#

it generated a clean new ui file and i still cant see the windows :/

#

seems like deleting arcdps.ini made it appear

frozen urchin
#

in the arcdps.ini what do you have set for these values?

frozen urchin
half jolt
#

but to answer your question

frozen urchin
#

hmm, not sure what setting prevented it from showing then

#

if your settings are important to you, you could try figuring it out

waxen flume
#

maybe they where hidden, so pressing alt+shift+t would have shown them again

half jolt
#

ok seems like i got everything alright in the end, thanks everyone πŸ‘

frozen urchin
# half jolt

did you reinstall unofficial extras via Nexus?

half jolt
#

yes

frozen urchin
#

perfect
