You can either use bow or zip gun if u are new and don't know how to wall trick or don't have Glocks or M16.
If u do wanna wall trick use crowbar or modded cleaver as they have high attack speed and when u get a hang of it u can use any meele for wall trick

No, just buffs are temporary which help in the chance of getting a higher level puppies when you breed them, but food is necessary to grow the puppies.

Breading them is the best chance of getting a higher level dogs

Also I suggest reading this
:
For a chance to get a dog with a higher rank, crossbreed two dogs of the same rank and breed.
For example, breed two R2 Shepherd dogs for a chance to get a R3 Shepherd puppy.
(Note: after crossbreeding, you will get a puppy, but the parents run away.)
