I’ve been trying to help a friend of mine link a Pretendo Network ID onto his Nintendo 3DS and whether if I’m using the 3DS or we used to link it, I keep getting multiple error codes after I get everything set up and the ID gets canceled. How do I fix this? It keeps happening.

Can you make sure you have Nimbus and Luma updated? Can you try to make a PNID on the website and then try to link it?

okay, follow the solution that Bandwidth posted:
- open Nimbus and switch to Nintendo
- open Miiverse
(or eShop), wait for it to load / show an error / ask for your password, then exit without doing anything - open Nimbus and switch back to Pretendo
- go back to System Settings > NNID Settings to try again
Also, worth noting that creating a PNID directly via the 3DS (currently) results in error 022-2402,
so instead of doing that, you can create an account via the Pretendo website below, then choose "Link an existing ID" on your console

(for the username, just make sure that it isn't exactly the same as the existing Nintendo Network ID on the console; if in doubt, append _PN at the end of the username)
