To start, i know i'm not banned. That being said, i've gone through updated Luma and nimbus and nothing is working to get online working again. I got enable external firms and modules and game patching enabled as well, so if anyone can help me identify the issue here that'd be great.

Something clearly isn't taking the updated version of Luma3DS on your SD card since it's booting from CTRNAND and not the SD card
Could you show me the SD card that you're using for your 3DS?

i formatted it to FAT32

loads apps and stuff just fine, i noticed gm9 was having issues detecting it tho

It looks fine, could be a faulty SD card slot if even GM9 is having issues detecting it, or it's flat out failing
Do you remember how long it's been since you got that SD card?

Where'd you buy it from? SanDisk has since changed their branding IIRC, unless they changed it back but I don't think so

i have another SD card and gm9 detects it perfectly fine

So either stock that has sat around for a while or a fake, let's quickly check to see if it's fake, if it wants to show up in GM9

  1. Hold Start while powering on the console to open GodMode9

    -If the Luma3DS Chainloader opens, select GodMode9 from the List

  2. Press the HOME button

  3. Scroll down to More... and press A, then scroll down to System info and press A

  4. On line 14, there should be the words System ID1:, send the last 6 characters of the ID1, as this can indicate if the SD card is fake
    Note that your System ID1 may be on line 15, make sure that you're sending the ID1 and not the ID0

Do not take a picture and send this screen, as I'm pretty sure this screen contains sensitive console-specific information which should not be shared publicly and I am not willing to take a risk on it as I only need one thing from this screen
After sending the last 6 characters of the ID1 it will be used to confirm if your SD is legitimate or fake

Not really a good sign though if it sometimes doesn't show up but a different SD card does

Hmm, that is a real SanDisk off the top of my head, so it's not a fake
Probably is just one that passed QC but had premature failure judging by what you've said, you should try using another SD card if you can

You don't need the SD card in to boot since Luma3DS and Boot9Strap are installed to the console

i mean like all the applications and stuff work perfectly fine that ive installed to the SD card

Could be that the boot.firm is corrupted, or something else
Let's try basic troubleshooting again
1. Open Universal Updater
2. Search “luma” and download the Luma3ds boot.firm
3. Still in Universal Updater, also search “Nimbus” and reinstall it. If you're not sure which one to pick, choose the .cia to download (no need to uninstall first)
4. Turn off your console
5. Hold SELECT and turn it on
6. Make sure both of the top 2 options have an X in them.

  • Enable game patching
  • Enable loading external FIRMs and modules
    7. Hit START to save and return to the 3DS HOME menu.
    8. Open Nimbus now and press START to finish the Nimbus update process from earlier in Step 3.
    9. Open Nimbus again and click Pretendo.
    10. Try opening the Friends List friends
