No, you cannot change your PNID username, unless you delete your PNID and create a new one, but I would not recommend doing that since the username doesn't get freed up once deleted

I deleted my account and made a new one, my old PN ID is still latched onto my 3DS. Do I need to factory reset it or is there a work around?

You should be able to unlink your PNID by pressing (X) while in the Nimbus app.
Doing so will not delete any applications or save data.
If it doesn't give you that option, make sure to update Nimbus to its latest version via Universal Updater (if in doubt between the 3dsx and cia versions, choose cia)
