#I added a new user to my Wii U recently, and it prompts me to enter a password, but it wont work

The 2534 error suggests that your issue isn't about the password, it's that you aren't using the same network that the NNID or PNID was created on. It is impossible to sign into an original NNID (Nintendo Network ID) while using Pretendo Network servers, or vice versa.
Was the Inkay plugin enabled (and using Pretendo Network) at the time that you added a user with (presumably) a PNID, and is it still enabled?
Do you see the "Using Pretendo Network" or "Using Nintendo Network" text in the upper left corner when the console boots?

Maybe an absurd question, but are your NNID and your PNID different? (as in, the username is different? not to be confused with the Mii name)
