As you can see, I'm not able to connect, I just get the 002-0110 error just like when you try to connect with your NNID. I have a subscription and I'm able to access the beta servers (I have Beta selected on my profile, not production). I may be afraid that the PNID linked to my 3DS isn't the same as the one that is linked to my Pretendo account, but I have no clue how to check that out.

Did you get your 3DS friend code whitelisted? What you select on the website only applies to WiiU accounts.
