someone messaged me on juxt wii u and I cannot for the life of me start a chat with someone else, I have them added, people say just press the message button at the top but there is none, I only see a heart I'm so confused ive been looking for like 4 days now

If you're on 3DS, you cannot start private chats on Juxtaposition unless they have messaged you first

If you're on Wii U, you should be able to start chats with I believe a message box button once you've added them

Ah wait I think I found out what the problem is
You've added each other over Pretendo Network using your PNIDs, but not on Juxtaposition, use the heart icon to follow them and make sure they follow you back, then hopefully you can message

Since Pretendo Network is trying to recreate Nintendo Network, some things may work in the same strange ways the Nintendo Network did, such as on 3DS you use Friend Codes and friends are added by the two of you adding each other's FC as opposed to sending friend requests with your PNIDs

So yeah, things are a bit weird
Maybe they'll add some QoL improvements to it to make everything feel better when Pretendo Network matures, but for now it's just a little confusing how things work thanks to previous Nintendo jank

Just checked the profile of someone else who messaged me on Juxtaposition, I can't find the message button on their profile either, so I don't know what's up with that, lemme see if I can find a Juxt FAQ or something

I don't know what it is with the guy who first messaged you being able to message you privately without following you, but from what I can see, I can only message people who have followed me, the other person who was messaging me must've unfollowed me

ah it may be that they unfollowed me, hadn't thought of that, I can still message them now even without him following me but I doubt that it would check every message, maybe just the start of a chat is checked
