If you've forgotten your Nintendo Network ID password, please follow these steps:
Access System Settings: On your 3DS HOME Menu, go to System Settings.
Select Nintendo Network ID Settings: Navigate to Nintendo Network ID Settings.
Reset Your Password: When prompted, select "I forgot" for the password. An email containing a temporary password will be sent to the email address linked to your account.
Sign In: Use this temporary password to sign in on your 3DS.
Update Your Password: Once signed in, please update your password in the Nintendo Network ID Settings to something memorable.
If you cannot retrieve your Nintendo Network ID from the system and don't remember the email address linked to your account, you will need to contact Nintendo Support. They may ask you security questions or request other account information to verify ownership.

Forgotten what? The ID/username, the password, or both?
Are you talking about a Nintendo account (NNID) or a Pretendo one (PNID)?
There is strictly no need to remember/reset the password of a NNID, nor delete any existing NNID from the console, in order to use Pretendo.
