Everytime I press update it does it then when I go to enter the game the update message is still there. This is happening for Mario kart 7.

game updates aren't provided by pretendo, you'll have to switch to nintendo network to update your games

but try opening mk7 and seeing the version number

if it's 1.2 the 3ds is just acting weird because 1.2 is the latest version

try reinstalling nimbus and seeing if that helps
