I know this is a commonly repeated issue but I haven't been able to find if there's a definitive solution or not.
Previously I had my old NNID and I believe a PNID connected. I say "I believe" because while switched to the PNID via Nimbus it showed my NNID in the settings, but in hindsight it's likely I just never properly set up Pretendo.
I decided I didn't like my old NNID name and removed it to make a new one, as well as a new Pretendo ID. However, upon doing so now all my badges disappear when switching accounts. I know the badges were expected to disappear upon removal of my NNID, but not upon every switch from NNID to PNID. The installation guide and many threads I've found repeatedly explain to not open the badge arcade while connected to PNID lest you lose all your badges, but I'm not opening badge arcade at all, just switching accounts via Nimbus and witnessing my home screen badges vanish.
It seems the badges may actually still be in place but simply not installed, because there are some home screen tiles that I'm unable to place items on until I select "remove all badges". Upon reinstalling badges in Anemone and loading a saved layout the badges return as expected, but disappear once again when switching accounts. It seems like the layouts are saved between accounts, it's just uninstalling the badges.
Is there no way to make it so this doesn't happen? Searching for this has proved difficult because it's almost entirely people worried about losing their legitimate badges in badge arcade, and not necessarily badges simply vanishing on switch.
