Is it true badges go away when switching from Nintendo/Pretendo? Or only this applies to badge arcade/official badges?

It's true yes

#

Launching badge arcade either on nintendo or pretendo will wipe them all

#

Switching to pretendo will "hide" them, you can use them if you switch back to nintendo

It can't connect to the server so it thinks the badges you have aren't legitimate and wipe them all

There's an app that can change the NNID associated with badges
There's also a Home Menu patch that makes it ignore the NNID check
