Minecraft is generally just a laggy game. There’s often times I get low FPS when playing. Wiiu addition is very outdated as well.

The last thing I can suggest is checking your game settings, and changing them and testing different combinations out.

I’m mainly used to Java addition. Not much further I can suggest due to the vague nature, and many problems that could cause this.

Considering there’s a large jump in the frames you get it could be something to do with the files themselves. If you haven’t tried reinstalling the game yet try that.

Mods can easily mess with the game too. Often or not the mods themselves actually make it worse

Try installing vanilla. And retry. Always try the same thing with pretendo.

If then it still doesn’t work. The last thing you can try is completely restoring from an old backup of your Wii u and redo everything. That’s if you really want to

Considering the only problem is with Minecraft itself. Odds are the game itself is corrupted or the mods you installed into it made it unstable for online play
