vWii doesn't support GameCube controllers, it only works with Nintendont and with Gecko codes for a few games.

clear gust
#

So

#

Can I use classic controlelr

#

Instead

#

Is buying one worth it

gritty grove
#

Yeah, though it just depends if the game supports it or not.

clear gust
#

Okay that's fine!!

#

Ofc

gritty grove
#

Also which game are you trying to use with the GameCube controller? There's a chance there's a gecko code that could add support for it on vWii.

clear gust
#

Brawl

gritty grove
#

Yeah there's a gecko code for Brawl that fixes GameCube controller support.

clear gust
#

How do I implement this

#

I'm stupid 😭

gritty grove
#

Hold on, lemme find the code real quick.

#

Turns out the code only works if you load it off the physical disc, sorry.

clear gust
#

I have i

#

It

#

I have the physical copy

#

Should just work then yeah

#

I never tried that

gritty grove
#

But are you running it off WiiFlow?

clear gust
#

I should just use the game

#

I never tried that

#

I'm stupid remember

#

😂

clear gust
#

I have the physical copy it should just work.

#

Right?

gritty grove
#

No sadly.

#

No matter what there's no native GameCube controller support on vWii.

clear gust
#

What about like

#

I don't know exactly how this works I had my brother mod it for me

#

I should just have him do this soon

gritty grove
#

It's not that hard to do, I can walk you through it.

clear gust
#

Okay

gritty grove
#

Do you have a way to access the SD card?

clear gust
#

Yeah

gritty grove
clear gust
#

ok

#

console off too?

gritty grove
#

Yeah.

clear gust
#

okay

gritty grove
#

Firstly, once you extract the Gecko folder, go to Gecko1931\Gecko1931\HBC

#

In the HBC folder you should see a Gecko1931 folder, copy that to the apps folder on your SD card.

#

(for vwii the apps folder is on the root of your SD card, not the one in the wiiu folder)

clear gust
#

okay

#

done

#

like this

gritty grove
#

Yeah.

#

Then, extract wii-gca and copy over the patch folder to the root of the SD card.

clear gust
#

so just in the sd

#

not in a folder

gritty grove
#

Yeah.

#

Well, there should just be the patch folder.

#

But not in any other folders.

clear gust
gritty grove
#

si

clear gust
#

okay

gritty grove
#

Now you can put it back in the Wii U, go open the Homebrew Channel (in vWii), and then load GeckoOS

clear gust
#

ok

gritty grove
#

Make sure you have the Brawl disc in, then you can press launch game (in GeckoOS)

clear gust
#

it said failure to boot os

#

oih

#

sd card isnt in

gritty grove
#

lol it happens

clear gust
#

where is homebrew channel

#

on v wii?

gritty grove
#

Should just be on the menu somewhere.

#

As a channel

clear gust
#

found it

#

still no work

gritty grove
#

Try unplugging and plugging in the adapter again.

#

Also make sure it's on Wii U / Switch mode if that's an option.

clear gust
#

its offical

#

adapter

#

worked for melee

#

restart?

gritty grove
#

One sec, I have it working on my Wii U so lemme just see if there's anything I missed.

clear gust
#

the console or sum

#

ok

#

USB gecko not found

gritty grove
#

Make sure you have SD cheats and File Patcher on.

#

It's in the config settings.

clear gust
#

got it

#

now try?

gritty grove
#

Yeah

clear gust
#

i think it worked

#

WW

#

gritty grove
#
