I'm trying to login with instructions the pretendo site. I saw some posts here that ISP's might have blocked the dns server ip for some people. I pinged 88.198.140.154 on my pc, all the packets failed vs pinging 8.8.8.8. I set the primary dns on my router, and my internet was cut off so obviously the ip doesn't work. Is it possible to connect my pretendo account with vpn? Can you set a proxy up in the wii u settings to bypass this?

My wii u doesn't have my nintendo account attached to it. I reset the password twice to make sure I wasn't entering it incorrectly. I'm hesitant to mod since I don't want to brick any of my consoles. I don't really care for extra features, just be able to play games. What's the likely hood modding could break the console?

the whole fear of bricking thing is just because when the first mods for the wii u came out they were much more unsafe and unrefined compared to what they are now
its basically impossible to brick your wii u unless youre literally trying to do it, and there isnt really any way that could happen during a regular modding process anyway

pretendo doesnt tend to like working with proxies unless its mitmproxy to look at http packets, i wouldnt be surprised if vpns caused issues too
