#3ds crashing on home screen

May be because of netpass
I don’t think NetPass would cause this
Wait no thats because of BOSS content
Try seeing if you can clear some spot pass data for some titles
Hey. I have this same exact issue. for me, i was able to narrow it down to this being a pretendo issue. these are the things i had to have happen to cause this.
- This only happens when i am connected to a wifi network
- My system will only crash when connected to pretendo network, NOT nintendo network. i'm sure this has to to do with it because of how it must first connect to the internet and likely requests something from the server, whatever it gets back just crashes the system.
- Naturally, this issue does not occur when the SD card is removed or you boot into DS mode before your system connects to the internet.
- When plugging your SD card into the system whilst it is powered on, this issue does not occur, but when you restart it with the sd card in like normal, the error will persist.
this kinda sucks.. pls update me on this situation, I'd love to use pretendo again. I use it on wii u and used to use it on 3ds before this issue happened.
I've probably been using pretendo for 2-3 weeks on my 3ds now before this came up.
for the record, my model is the New 3DS JP. I switched the region to US, though.
@jade wind YO! i found the solution! i just got my 3ds to work by following it.
check this out.
NetPass did have some issues that were causing BOSS crashes recently
Also my 3ds only started crashing once I had downloaded netpass, but even after deleting it my 3ds still crashes
Also I'll try following those steps tomorrow
You have NetPass and Pretendo?
If you are having an issue where your 3DS crashes with the "boss" process, this is due to NetPass. You can disable game patching to avoid this by doing:
- Hold SELECT while turning on the 3DS
- At Luma3DS configuration, disable "Enable loading external FIRMs and modules"
- Press START to save and exit
- If this works, open /luma/sysmodules/ and delete 0004013000003402.ips and 0004013000002602.ips
That's from Homebrew Server
After deleting NetPass and the files in step 4, you can re-enable loading external FIRMs and modules
