update caused my WiiU to get stuck on loading screens

I got a notification that some things had updates, so I installed them but now I can't get past the wii U menu loading screen or the splatoon loading screen

Yes, I finally managed to get past the start up screen by turing off my console & going into health and safety with my gamepad and then to the main menu, and now everything seems to be working? Should I be concerned?
