this also happens in SMM1 when using nsmbu theme and testing the level in the editor, I have confirmed with OP and they have a Samsung nand chip

i got him to upload to wiiuident and this is the info (the disc is randomly chosen, but the other info is accurate)

perhaps a bad wireless chip on the GamePad or some other bad component?

if he knows anyone near him with a wii u have him try a different game pad on it to determine where the problem is
