Not sure if this works all the time but this is what I did, first switch nimbus to Nintendo servers then make sure it’s working by going to friends and seeing it says online, then go to your settings, open your id settings then back out delete your internet settings than THIS IS IMPORTANT, Make sure you select manual setup than manual again and type in everything (ip and dns settings keep those on auto) and then hit done, switch back to pretendo servers and the go to your friends, it might not show connect at first but just go back to home and sit there for a few seconds and it should connect to the servers

UPDATE: After closing my ds for just 5 minutes I came back to the servers not working again, this could mean that street/spot pass is effecting it in some way
