I can go on friends list when I’m on my phones hotspot but home wifi doesn’t let me connect to servers. If it’s my router does anyone know what I would need to do? It’s weird hotspot works cause that would imply it’s not a server issue or an installation issue. I’ve seen multiple people with this problem and no solutions so I figured I’d add my ticket here too

#

I’ve also been told to just wait it out and I’ve been waiting for a little over a month

#

Also thinking about it now it’s pretendo exclusive because I can use net pass and the web browser

Connect to hotspot and then turn hotspot off p much?

or if you want to play Mario Kart 7, check out CTGP-7. They have their own custom server and a better anti-cheat

Sounds good, I’m not sure how to choose which internet connection it’s using it’s just automatic right?

It's worth noting that depending on your data plan (if you're using mobile data) you may be unable to use a hotspot. Other plans may limit to 10GB before rate-limiting. (The 3DS typically consumes 1GB for every 4-6 hours of online gameplay, or even longer depending on the situation; results may vary.)

however using things like NTRStream on N3DS will significantly increase data usage to about 1GB every 30-60 minutes

#

(I know this is off-topic but if you do get rate-limited to, say, 128kbps, some Wii games are actually still playable online, such as Mario Kart Wii. I've actually done that before and didn't get banned; supposedly some have even used dial-up with success.)

I’m confused, I already have my hotspot and home wifi set in my internet setting I just am not sure how to select which one it’s using and the suggestion you linked to was saying something like connect through hotspot then switch to home wifi

Okay. The 3DS will automatically select whichever network it can connect to. However, with Luma3DS, you can force a connection to a specific network.

#
  1. Open the Rosalina menu.
  2. Select System Configuration. (if I'm not mistaken)
  3. There should be an option that allows you to force a connection. Select the network you wish to connect to.
  4. If successful, your console will use that network!

Oh gotcha thank you

#

Yeah it’s still not connecting after switching to home wifi. Like my original question is it something to do with my router? Or is this something pretendo is needing to fix

Yeah only on home wifi

I think sometimes ISPs might block Pretendo connections?

#

Just a theory

Alright I’ll look into how to change that

Idk anything about router settings haha but thanks for pointing me in a direction to look into
