If you’re using a 3ds and your console is already modded you can download nimbus through universal downloader
(Nimbus is pretendo for the 3ds)

Cheakpoint is a homebrew app

Your confusing me a bit...FTPD is a file transfer program, it's not a save backup tool. You still need to use checkpoint to back your saves up.
Transfer the backups to your PC then format if needed

You can't recover stuff from your Nintendo 3DS folder after a format
If you did it via system settings, it deletes that folder when formatting
In other words...it's gone
(You didn't even have to format, it's not your fault either, just some bad advice)
