the only difference is that netpass needs to be checked every few hours but lets you streetpass anyone, but relay is automatic and limits you to your friends list

relay is automatic and only works on friends list. you have to load into netpass and select a location. and you gain passes there that you collect every time you open the app

they are both really slow. just like regular streetpass. which makes pandanoko the hardest yo-kai to get
