I'm following the guide and booted after enabling game patching and loading external firms and modules, my 3ds says it can't detect the microsd and when I put it back in my computer, it says it needs to be formatted

What size is it? It could be too large for the 3ds to handle

Do any other sd cards work in the console? Does it only throw errors on your computer after it's been in the 3ds?

right click disk 1, create simple partitions, and accept any default options it throws at you
