vWii is out because my Wii u has a broken HDMI port (And I actually have no idea if mine even still works due to the redNAND tbh). Adapters, I have already tried. My old TV worked with it. My new one does not. Sound, but no picture.

That is the official reason. I don't believe a word he says about that. Why? Simple. It is just as easy to cheat on a real Wii as it is on Dolphin. Plus, Wiimmfi allows Dolphin as long as you bring your BootMii Dump from a real Wii. Similar to how it works on Cemu (Speaking from experience. 99% of my play time on Pretendo is on Cemu). There is no real reason to block Dolphin.

There’s also a legit region now for playing without hacks and has a hacker reporting system, which seems kinda useless to me because most people are just gonna use wiimmfi for this but idk, some people like other servers which is fine

I know there were crazy ones, it happened to me once and luckily my Wii still works because of it. My screen turned all like a light blue color and there was a word showing up saying “STAR” I asked around and was told that my Wii is at risk of RCE attack and could possibly brick my console. Luckily I saved it and was very lucky. Considering this came from Ro I’m sure it’s serious.

iirc vulnerability was disclosed on 24/12/2022 by 3 people (1 of which is an active Pretendo staff member and 1 maintains the MK8 servers), Pretendo basically develops RCE patches immediately. Nintendo patched most games when it was disclosed excluding MK8 and Splatoon which were up until March 2023.

They were then taken down until 2/8/2023 (is my dates right) where Nintendo released version 4.2.0 and 2.12.1 respectively
