invincibility isn't even a crazy hack. if someone wants to win, they'd eliminate what prevents them from doing so im pretty sure. i don't play splatoon, nor do ik about it's code base, but in the end of the day it's usually 1 singular patch, one that probably gets released within the first codes made for a game. so i doubt it mattered to them that they died. they didn't tryhard to win. there's no "u use hacks and still lose", it's using hacks because it's fun to them to have a little extra advantage or because of other reasons
