an early list of my opinion

Stuff i would allow ✅ :

• Cosmetic stuff (such as levels/rank, splat bomb icon as weapon, "splatted by ..." custom deaths & Turf Points in result.)
• Hidden Gear (Example : SRL Gear, Mission gear, testfire gear... etc!)
• Server Sided Ink Tanks (Allowed : Tnk_Rvl00 / Tnk_Msn0Lv0. Those are as similar as the normal ink tank.)
• Name Changer (Depends if there's swearing or not.)
• Main abilities in sub abilities (they have no effect if placed on sub spots, which means it won't work.)
• Custom gear brand (This affects nothing in the game.)
• Octolings online
• Octoling Skin Tone (Just a skin tone, nothing bad lol!)
• Save editing
• Using signals before and after the match (It doesn't affect anything, you just say Booyah!/This Way!)

Stuff i wouldn't allow ❌ :

• Any cheats that can ruin the game (Bomb Rapid/Infinite ink/Always movable... you name it.)
• Force Start
• Abuse of timer (example : showing more than 400 seconds in a lobby.)
• Forcing ranked modes on turf (and the other way around)
• Any offline maps in turf/ranked
• Ink Tanks using "Tnk_Msn0Lv1/Tnk_Msn0Lv2/Tnk_Msn0Lv3"
• Any hidden weapons (Roller_KingSquid, Shot_Msn0Lv% & Shot_Rvl0Lv%)
• Any hidden sub weapons (Hero mode bombs/silent splat bombs.)
• Any sort of weapon modification that gives advantages to the player (Custom kits, param editing.)
• YgrMarking (A white broken version of echolocator.)
• Invincibility

Stuff that could be allowed ❓ :

• Custom ink (Only if it isn't bright.)
• Server sided night time.
• Different abilities than the original on gears.
• Signal Unlimiter (The limit of signals is 3, unlocking it allows you to say Booyah!/This Way! a lot)

NOTE : Hacks that aren't allowed can be used in private battles, as long as everyone is fine with it!

That's probably a warning. But if it happens repeatedly, I'm sure it's constituted as a permanent ban (night mode effects shadows and ink trails, it's allowed client-side, but not server-side)

Did nintendo natively had a ban system that can be toggled? I think it would be good to do something like scalable bans (like wiimmfi has) which we can ban someone, for example, because that person used a innapropiate username, for one day, but if the behaviour continues, extend it for a week, then for a month, and then a permanent ban
Because I dont think that warnings will help too much, after all, the hackers might be some 10 year old kid which doesnt care

Its good to punish the cheaters, but we have to give them chances to redeem themselves and become good, otherwise online playercount will drop down, and also those cheaters with permanent bans will end up selling their banned consoles to someone who wants to play pretendo as well

Well, you can appeal bans. It's incredibly unlikely that they become good citizens afterwards. The selling the banned console is an issue, but it's entirely their fault for cheating in the first place. Cheaters are players who don't want to play fair. There's a difference.
There are cheats that are condoned and ones that aren't. If they want to cheat, they can cheat fairly.

I agree, but also consider that, saying again, the cheater could be a 10 year old kid which only wants to troll and doom, but in the future that person might feel nostalgia and start to regret that action, because he/she wants to play again, but the good way
Me as a wiimmfi user, I have seen tons of cases of mkwii old cheaters asking for their bans revoked after a year or two and regretting their actions

Obviously I might be a little optimistic about that, but it happens

If bans will keep being permanent, we can specify in the rules that the banned person can appeal for another oportunity after 6/12 months after the ban at least

Yeah we mods don't have access to the ban panel, the thing we do as mods is forward ban reports to the devs so they ban people themselves

Personally I don't fully know all the deets regarding these games, so I tend to look in here when people complain about bans, I leave the banning to mods who know more

Though I know some stuff regarding Splatoon and MK8 ofc but not everything, so I could report but in doubt I leave it to others

Yes, memorize what gear has what abilities. Competitive players use to memorize what shoes had stealth jump so they knew who would jump in unnoticed

Unless they modify their sub abilities to something you can't get normally, then no. Changed main abilities will show up as what they would normally on your end. (i.e. - White Headband normally has Ink Recovery Up; if another player changes it to say, Damage Up, it'd function like a Damage Up hat, but it'd show Ink Recovery Up as their hat's main ability when they splatted you in a match.)
