QUESTION : Using the same Online Files on both Wii U and Cemu at the same time

Hey there

With Pretendo gaining traction and whatnot, some of my friends were interested in getting back into some games on the system, especially Splatoon

However, one of them has yet to get himself a new Wii U, as he sold his years and years ago.

Now I totally understand if you guys can't answer me as I think it's kind of dancing around the rules of Pretendo and Cemu (and probably the laws as well), but if I were to send him my Wii U's online files to be able to play with him, does that make my console at risk of getting banned from Pretendo?

youll have to create a second user on your account and then use dumpling to dump the account files to him, but yes, it should be fine. youll be able to match together in the same games without an issue

however if one of you is banned for cheating it effects you both, so only do this for people you trust and not complete strangers lol

@half pier sorry for the ping, just been reading this post as i was curious as well if it has the risk of getting banned... i do have 2 wii u's but for some reason dumping and using the online files from that one dont appear to be working though so my next thought would have been 2 accounts 1 console

ive personally done it on nintendo network and was able to play with the person while using the console in question. they can definitely tell but dont care afaik. cemu IS however having a lot of issues with pretendo at the moment so im sure your file dump was probably fine

again its your console so whoever you give those files to is liable to get you both banned if they decide to break the rules

it should be looping failed to connect to friend service over and over if thats the case

Adding onto that thread some more, me and my friend have had immense struggles trying to at least end up in the same match on Splatoon.

I don't know if it's CEMU related but the game will sometimes say my friend is offline when he's not, or say he's in a lobby when he's not, it's like there's a MASSIVE delay to anything my friend does before it gets shown to me on my Wii U

The best way we've found to play together is to queue up in matchmaking at the same time, sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't

I feel like CEMU is just not updating the user's current state fast enough to Pretendo or something

Hmm interesting update about the console with the changed serial, decided to download cemu 2.0-5 as per pretendo's docs being the earliest build supported and sucess im loaded into splatoon interestingly like i havent gotten stuck on the loading screen BOTH PNIDS WORK TOO

do you have a backup copy, take that and replace the seeprom.bin inside cemu's folder then edit the seeprom from inside that folder and open cemu

I had a pop up when connecting online but only once

if ya take a look in the hidden icon bar you should see a windows defender icon (circled in the image)

clickie on here

you'll want to scroll thru here until you see cemu

if it's not checked off for both click on change settings and then check off the one that isn't enabled

click ok

i honestly didnt expect the serial to be referenced one singular time throughout all those files

which is why i thought it would be too much of a hassle to actually pull off

what raises more questions is why the hell the serial is change-able via the sysprod.xml on the console in the first place
