Having problems with password

So yesterday, I made my pretendo account and linked it to my wii u. unfortunately I've been trying to open up Mario Kart 8 on my Pretendo Account and it kept saying to type in my password. I typed in my Pretendo password and it says that it was incorrect, and I recall typing in correctly. So I'm not sure what to do and whether if i did a typo or I have to use my Nintendo Network password (which i don’t know), please help me.

(edit: the password does actually work, all i did was press the change password setting and used the pretendo password and it did work so i did typed in the password right)

Edit: looks like Mk8 is booting up without asking my password and the online seems to work

Edit Edit: I wanted to open up the friend list, but I'm getting an error when booting it up, (code 101-0502)

It would likely be a typo, since it should be the password used with your pretendo account, not nintendo

That's really odd

Did you create the account on the website? If so did you use any characters that the wii u doesn't have on the keyboard

You dont need an account for most games

@everyone actually now i'm having another issue

i've tried going to the friend list and get an error code of 101-0502

That is a fairly common error, you should try again a couple of times, if it still happens let me know

could this have to do with juxt being in maintenance and that affected the friend list?
