I created two accounts linked to the same email. Gamerboy34 (same as NNID) is irrelevant as it was created using the website. I successfully created another ID and linked it to my 3DS (Gby34-pretendo) . Please delete the Gamerboy34 account. This will free up unused space for other IDs, I followed a tip on how to create an id properly on a Reddit post.

Out of curiosity, does the "-pretendo" suffix have any special handling or is it just something you put on the username to mark it as a pretendo account for yourself?
(Wondering if you read something somewhere that caused you to add it on)

I recall seeing rumors that "-pretendo" suffix got ignored when you actually signed into Pretendo's web-based site but I'm pretty sure those were baseless rumors

At the moment you actually can't change any information in any way because it simply hasn't been implemented yet.
You can only change your password over the reset password function

What I'm trying to figure out is whether making a -pretendo suffix account through 3DS actually creates a non-suffix account on the site; according to the post, it does, but I really doubt that.
So what would have happened is you created Gby34-pretendo on your 3DS, and it'd have automatically made a Gby34 login on the website, if the post was true.

Like I said, there's rumors that there's special handling for the suffix, but thus far I'm not seeing it be true
and my PNID is too long to add the suffix on consoles if I wanted to try
The piece of that post that claims it is:
Once at the part where it says “Nintendo Network ID”, put in the info you put on the pretendo website, followed by the “-pretendo” (without quotations).

Same I wanted to use the name my mii has but it was too long I had to shorten it to get it to work.

Making it on the 3ds has automatically made it on the website with the same password (I believe). The suffix has nothing to do with anything, your account on the website is also Gby34-pretendo, not solely Gby34

I just tested with a dummy account created on the website as "test123" (or something similar), tried to sign into Pretendo on my 3DS as "test123-pretendo" and it couldn't find the account, and I assume it will find "test123" just fine (update: it did).

I think the setup steps for making the account on the 3DS vs on the website are mostly similar, they end up with the same login/password/email regardless.
