Deleted everything the guide told me to put on my SD card, loaded nimbus, tried swapping to Pretendo (when I tried it and reopened nimbus again it remained on Nintendo Network)

Shut off my 3DS, put the files back, booted up and tried to swap to Pretendo again.

System Menu NNID menu only showed my NNID, even though Nimbus said I was on Pretendo.

I tried restarts, got errors for Miiverse, uninstalled Nimbus through Settings then reinstalled with FBI, swapped to Pretendo again and SOMEHOW it prompted the first time NNID setup

I need to try logging in to confirm I didn't permanently muck anything up, so try at your own risk

Both hacked 3DS and DNS Wii U won't let me use PNID :/

I kind of figured my Wii U won't like to be used after it's SD Card slot was broken and hoping DNS route will help it, but no. :/

3DS on the other hand doesn't like to switch it's toggle on Nimbus from NNID to PNID. The 3DS has Luma/Rosalina and GodMode9 installed. 😦

I feel like Luma configuration or something doesn't work. If I keep "Enable loading externalFIRMs and modules" Homebrew launcher won't work and tells me to certain steps that I already did and won't go through. Same goes with CTGP-7 if on, it crashes. If I kept it off, then Nimbus won't work.

Ok so question about deleting nimbus and uninstalling rverse, I’m at the stage of looking at my files on my sd card. Would using rehid to change button mapping count as a mod? Don’t want to delete files and then have games using rehid not work

Rehid is an application so I don't think it should count. If anything it would just delete your button mapping which you can just reset

For me I just can't switch from Nintendo Network to Pretendo. I disabled my NNID, and now I'm just trying to figure out how to switch it. I think I should reinstall Nimbus with the universal updater

I was very close to get Wii U to work with DNS route since my SD card slot is broken.

It can connect to the net on Splatoon, but won't pass due to wrong password. I know in some sense that it is my original account with NNID, not PNID.

When I created an account. I forgot to use a different email and use the same. So, using the same "info" for PNID will cause conflict on Wii U itself since my main uses the same.

you could try with a new email or any alternative emails you have.

i don't know if my nnid and pnid share the same email. it's been so long since my nnid was setup. though it's generally recommended to have them be as distinct as possible.

I am facing similar issues with mine, my NNID is logged in. I tried switching pretendo and nothing, still on my account, did the exact same thing with the universal updater, updated Luma, watched over 178 videos already and nothing, I am stuck as well, seems like this error is common 🤔
And no I never made a pretendo account with my same email address to my NNID on the website yet.

to anyone reading this and has this issue:
1.make sure you are on the pretendo network
2.power off, then power on your console
3.make a pretendo account on their website
4.link the pnid where the nnid is usually
5.launch miiverse/juxt
6.if it says you need a certificate, download the .3dsx version of nimbus from universal updater
7.tap the pretendo network icon in nimbus even if you are on the pretendo network
8.power off, then power on your console
if this doesnt work then make a new support thing or/and dm me

I did try couple more times toggling in Nimbus to get Pretendo to work, but no luck. 😦

But I did decide to create a new PNID with a different email for my DNS side Wii U (since SD card slot is broken) and I am able to start up and play Splatoon lobbies. 🙂

So, 1 of 2 working.

Since my original PNID has the NNID and email as the original one. MY OG account on Wii U will conflict and don't know what to do with it. Can't enter correct password from NNID or PNID because of it.

If I ever get my Wii U fixed by someone. I will do a save backup by Homebrew and then get my OG PNID working after that. (Even if it means deleting the OG account on Wii U)

Brand new update as of April 10th:
It worked, I had to remove my current NNID through Godmode9 without deleting any content without formatting, only issue is Miiverse won't allow me to connect with an error connection, was able to connect to Mario Kart 7, I linked my Pretendo account on my 3DS after doing this method, I think this is what the updated tutorials need to include for newbies like myself

Same here, it worked after removing your NNID by using Godmode9 tutorial, I was able to prompt into logging into existing ID, I chosen second account that I added on my PC for Pretendo, clicked it, worked, Mario Kart 7 worked like I said, but Miiverse doesn't work.

Sooo, now I've got two accounts. One I made from the website, not knowing any better, & one made from the 3DS, using the instructions in this thread that are nowhere else. I had to use a modified version of my name because it said my name was in use, but the same email address was fine - so there's that.

Hey there. Sorry for the long quiet from me. I did want to try again to get my 3DS to work on Pretendo. I figured out what went wrong on my end.

Turns out I had some old files in titles and sysmodules that probably don't work any more from newer Luma3DS or other method I used for my 3DS. Once I deleted those and reused my SD again for Pretend with the proper files that are in there. It finally switched over to Pretendo.

Now, I just need to get a new SD card reader for my Wii U to get proper Pretendo on there, not by DNS.

I am happy for now. 🙂
