#[Request] Add support for Pokémon Shuffle because it was discontinued the online service

It's in my own personal list of games I'm planning to dump traffic from. I bought Pokémon Shuffle before the eShop shut down but I've yet to try it, could you give me an explanation of how the online functionality work? Is it actually discontinued, or do you mean that it will be getting discontinued once Nintendo's servers shut down?
Nop, it Is actually discontinued by The Pokémon Company ig
And the online function was like play special levels dedicated besides at what level are you in the game and special challenge with rewards
The 3ds servers have been shut down since April 2023, so I'm afraid traffic dumps won't be possible
The mobile servers are still up, if that can be of any help
Probably (idk) it should be possible to clone the mobile server and port it to 3ds
🤦 They will try to support each game, just BE PATIENT.
The online connectivity has basically three functionalities in 3DS Shuffle:
-
the game requires you to connect every time the 3ds has a time offset to access the special stages, simply so that you can't cheat the rotation since it's week-based, and not being able to connect means that one's locked out of them for good unless you used Luma to nullify the time offset before the servers went down.
This is different from mobile, which requires you to always be connected, since you can play the entire game offline (except competitive stages) as long as the game doesn't percieve a time offset -
Daily rewards, they give lots if goodies, the only exclusive content to them are 12 special Pikachus, one for each month
-
Competitive stages, which as the name suggests use a leaderboard to decide how many rewards a user will get at the end of the week.
They'll probably be the most difficult thing to implement, since they're not simple checks like the other two. The leaderboards reset every week if I remember correctly, so it should't occupy a lot of memory for what's worth
Also, in case someone is actually interested in working on Shuffle, there currently is a preservation mod that basically unlocks some of the online-only features, but doing that not only mods the game, making it incompatible with an eventual Pretendo server, but also removes any kind of connectivity from it.
I'm saying this because the people behind it probably have sone kind of knowledge about the inner workings of the game, and so they might be of help
This is not an invite for randos who are interested in the game to bother them btw, in fact don't bother anyone involved in this project, I also want to play the game fully, and it's weird that it wasn't prioritized given how it was plugged out earlier than others, I get it, but bothering people about it won't bring it earlier, if anything it'll put off people who might work on it
