My Cemu says "Your account is a valid online account." and I selected Pretendo but when I try to go online in Splatoon it doesn't work, probably because I haven't actually linked my PNID or anything, don't know how to. There's an account.dat file I can edit that has an 'accountID' and more and I have a Pretendo acount, but how do I link it to my Cemu? Thank you

Too play Splatoon online on Pretendo you need to have the Super Mario Tester or higher.
ohh i see
but still - what you need to edit into the account.dat to make it work on other games?
You don't edit anything, and there's nothing game specific so you don't have to "make it work on other games"
Just follow the official Cemu guide for going online but just dump the account files for your PNID
You don't have to link a PNID to anything right now. It sounds like you have a bad account dump. Try dumping the account files from your WiiU again
my cemu says, your account is a valid online account please link a nnid to it, i dont have a wii u so i cant dump a account but i do have a pnid please help me link the cemu account to my pnid, do i need a wii u?
Yes you need a WiiU. Just like with Nintendo Network you need valid console dumps to go online
Following up on this now that we have a public beta, where do I go from having made a pretendo account?
log into pretendo on your wii u, dump that account to an SD card, put the account info files (as instructed on the website) on your computer and link cemu to those files.
When done, set select in cemu that account and tick the box to connect to pretendo, instead of nintendo. Done
Piggybacking off this, any experience doing this setup on a steam deck via retrodeck? I’m like riiiiiight there but those bin files are tripping me up https://discord.com/channels/408718485913468928/1219772757202440233
no, I don't own a SteamDeck, but on any other platform you can tell Cemu in the setting, where it has to load the account information: General Settings -> MLC-Path
Np, was a general question thread hijack. Yeah I got that part, just think those two bin files that “need to be where the executable is” aren’t in the right place
