[Cemu] Splatoon - you need to connect to the internet

I'm trying to connect to Pretendo via Splatoon running in Cemu. I don't get news, and in lobby I get "To participate in online battles, you need to connect to the Internet and receive the latest News data." My options are receive or don't receive. Either will boot me back to the plaza and makes no difference.

I dumped all the typical files from my Wii U and I can see myself as online in the friends list in Cemu. The account screen in Cemu's settings also reports that the account is a valid online account.

I've seen similar issues, with some saying I need to dump the boss files from my Wii U. I've tried copying my mlc01/usr/boss/00050000/10176900 directory to Cemu's mlc01 directory, no luck. Then I tried the entire boss directory. Still nothing. My only guess is that I dumped my Wii U online files using the default Cemu user, 80000001, while my console user is different from that. But I'm not sure how to remedy that. Or am I not understanding how to dump boss files in the first place?

idk if this is going to help you but I had to put the boss files in a special folder for the pretendo user which for me is 80000002 so I had to put it in cemu/mlc01/usr/boss/00050000/10162b00/user/80000002/

I noticed that my game had a boss folder for 80000001 (default user) so I decided to create on for 80000002 because I noticed it wasn't there and it worked fine
