When you equip the octoling armor on the inkling boy in S1, he has a body texture to simulate a shirt that doesn't show any skin while it does on the female inkling

This needs to be fixed

It's kinda complex. The "undershirt" is a part of the actual inkling boy model, so you'll have to edit it off, then adjust his body mesh to cover the missing space so it uses the proper texture

You should be able to steal the body mesh from the S2 inkling boy and downscale it but idk

Yes, things did become very unstable when everything was moved over to using the common set of modules. Most likely because Shutter had a bunch of splatoon-specific hacks in place for that version of matchmaking that weren't transferred over

It was a save lock, and the issue was because the model system is dynamic and loads data from the RPX based on an array

The octolings fail to load properly because the data that exists where their pointers are supposed to be is garbage data since they were never actually given proper data

All of that is just a long way of saying it would have taken Nintendo less effort to fix the octolings properly than it did to make if conditions to keep them out

which was first used for nintendo land in 2012 iirc

nowadays nintendo is trying to streamline their engine use so the newer games usually use an engine known as ModuleSystem

you can see how different some things are between 2 and 3

the reflections on clothes are broken
